Fordham Bedford Community Services is committed to serving the youth in the community by providing educational and recreational programs designed for positive development.
S.A.T Preparation CoursesIn partnership with New York Cares and Kaplan, FBCS offers an S.A.T. preparation course designed to help high school juniors prepare for the exam. The classes are offered from October through early May from 6:30- 8:30 p.m once a week. Students are split into groups of two to three with an instructor to study Kaplan course materials. Students also take 4 full length practice exams to evaluate progress.
Because of the high demand this program generates, it is on an application basis. Applicants must submit a recommendation, a copy of last year’s report card, and undergo an interview process.
Students MUST demonstrate a commitment to the year long program, be able to attend workshops, and take all 4 practice exams. Allowable absences from the class are limited and should be substantiated by a doctor or parent. Students interested in applying must assume the responsibilities of this course while maintaining their grades.
